Imagine owning a 2019 Mercedes A250 W177 when you are 18. Pretty incredible, right? Well, Ignatios doesn't have to imagine, as he has one sitting in his garage.
The German automotive powerhouse that is Mercedes first revealed the W177 A250 back in 2018, and it was popular due to its fantastic levels of comfort while still retaining the sportiness that all Mercedes models need.
This is Ignatios' first car, and it was a perfect decision for him due to it's simple and smooth driving which makes it easy to learn to drive in, which was exactly what he did. However, there is a vast contrast to this. "The car has been put on track and it does handle pretty well, surprising for a non-performance package city hatchback. Getting up to nearly 200kph down the straight with only a 220hp engine is great." said Ignatios. Obviously this car has had a bit of work since factory, but what exactly has happened to it to bring it to where it is today? "Internally speaking, it has a cat back exhaust, downpipe, ECU tune, DCT tune, Crackle tune and an air intake. Externally we have a carbon fibre spoiler, diffuser and front lip. It also has custom 19 inch rims, wheel spacers, window tint and the AMG-spec front grill." said Mr. Samaras. Ignatios' favourite thing about owning the A250 when modified is that "it can be easily be mistaken for an AMG A45. The backfiring that it makes is also great".
After owning the car for a few years now, Ignatios wants to continue to modify it, and has a carbon fibre bonnet in his sights.
The cockpit is a wonderful place to be, with factory ambient lighting and a very large infotainment screen. It is similar to that of the AMG GT Black Series, and in fact most AMG models, especially when the dials are on the 'sports' mode. It is modern and comfortable, and with Ignatios' red paddle shifters, the car can switch from auto to semi-auto in a very efficient way.️
