Club Hillside Volume 2 - Spring Gathering
In February, we held the first installment of our event. With a few cars, we were pleased with the quality and atmosphere. When we set our minds on hosting a second volume of the gathering, we had thought that perhaps a small increase in numbers would occur. However, when we arrived to the carpark on a picture-perfect Sunday morning, it was a struggle to comprehend what we had achieved. Exponential growth in attendees - all of which in tremendous quality.
With a substantial eight months between events, the second Club Hillside car meet occurred, located within the astounding Adelaide Hills. Not only was the location aesthetically flawless, it gave multiple attendees the opportunity to tackle the winding roads en route before grabbing a bite to eat at one of the excellent cafes nearby.
The first to arrive was the incredibly unique Porsche RWB. With a cult-like following, RWB specialises in modifying various Porsche models, with recognisable wide fenders that seem to almost double the width of the car. Finished in a simple specs with one-of-one Rotiform wheels, Adelaide's only RWB was an incredible sight at Club Hillside. Shortly after, various attendees began to file in to the parking lot, including a stunning Verde Mantis Lamborghini Huracan EVO. Being loud in both spec and exhaust note, the Huracan certainly turned some heads as it graced the parking lot.
We had been privileged to have Zagame Adelaide participate in the event, with a pair of all-new Lotus Emiras in fantastic specs beside each other. What an excellent little car these are - certainly a fair addition to the wishlist.
Next to arrive was a rare Alpina BMW, something you certainly do not see regularly. What better way to showcase the luxury and craftsmanship of Alpina than to attend Club Hillside. A series of Porsches, an Aston Martin Vantage and a magnificent McLaren 12C were the last to arrive, and completed the line of skittle-like automobiles.
Overall, the second event that we have held was nothing short of marvellous. While retaining a sense of exclusivity, Club Hillside was the perfect opportunity for owners of high-end vehicles to gather, mingle and discuss their passion. With close to 15 vehicles, the turn out was the right balance that retained a sense of intimacy while collating a substantial array of cars. Great weather, incredible people and amazing cars. What better way to spend a Sunday morning? See you in summer.
