Say hello to the first ever all-electric Hyundai N: the Ioniq 5 N. In recent times, Hyundai have really smashed it out of the ball park with their design department, and the Ioniq 5 N is certainly no exception.

While the stock standard Ioniq 5 was nothing less of an exceptional car, the N badge brings in welcomed performance upgrades. With Hyundai’s ‘N Grin Boost’ activated, the 5 N produces 641 horspower, 41 more than in regular driving mode. Improvements to handling have also been added, with the incorporation of WRC spec engineering, especially through the drive axles. While the Ioniq 5 N is purely electric, the driver can immerse themselves in a combustion-like setting, with a customisable synthetic soundtrack and simulated gear shifts from a fake 8-speed gearbox. Feel free to drive in the silence too, though.

The Ioniq 5 N will reach 100km/h from a standing start in 3.4 seconds when the ‘N Grin Boost’ is activated, before reaching an impressive top speed of 260km/h. The motor will spin up to 21,000rpm from the pair of electric motors.

Design wise, Hyundai have certainly ticked all the boxes when it comes to designing an electric car which isn’t too absurd and futuristic, which we have seen all too much recently. Instead, retro features and the best bits from the internal combustion powered Ns are present, especially throughout the interior, with the familiar baby blue hue contrasted by the red striping.
