In 2002, Koenigsegg brought the CC8S to the world; the first production Koenigsegg to have ever been made. It was a remarkable piece of machinery, with a 4.6L supercharged V8 producing 655hp. After a long 20 years, the CC8S is back. This time, it's named the CC850.

Say hello to the latest and greatest Koenigsegg - a modernised version of the CC8S. To celebrate 20 years of Koenigsegg, they are going back to their roots. The CC850 is instantly recognisable to the original, with curvy lines and a dramatic forward slanting fishbowl windscreen. But it's not only the exterior design that remains similar to the original; a manual transmission is a welcoming feature and one that is very rarely seen in modern day hypercars. Of course, to keep up with the current competition, a groundbreaking paddle-shift system also is seen in the CC850 - perfect for quick shifting and maximising the incredible 1,363 horsepower produced by the Jesko's 5.0-litre V8. It also shares the carbon fibre chassis with the Jesko - assuring that while the CC850 may look like a car built 20 years ago, it has the modern technology of today's greatest hypercars. Although no performance figures have been released by Koenigsegg, it's hard to think that the CC850 will be anywhere close to slow, especially considering the Jesko Absolut is capable of over 480km/h.

There's only 4 centimetres difference in the width and 20 centimetres difference in the length between the CC8S and the CC850, meaning the proportions are really quite the same. It is obvious that the CC850 is a throwback to the past, while using modern features to keep it up-to-date with competitors. The retro, telephone dial-style wheels make a comeback, being lightweight while also looking cool. These rims are 20 inches on the front and 21 inches on the rear. A removable roof and large scissor doors are also present in the CC850. At the rear, a sharp diffuser and large central-exit exhaust compensate for the otherwise elegant design.

After the reveal at the Pebble Beach Quail Event, the Koenigsegg CC850 had already sold out, but due to the high demand, CEO Christian Von Koenigsegg declared another 20 units will be produced.
