After leaks, sightings and speculations, the all new 992 GT3 RS has been revealed - just look at the size of that wing!

At first glance, it's hard to believe that the latest GT3 RS is road legal. It's not at all far from the Cup cars seen in different racing categories. But no, the 992 GT3 RS is a car you can take to the shopping centre. To be honest, it isn't particularly surprising that this car can be mistaken to one belonging to the track, as there has been an abundance of tweaks, never seen before on a 911 model.

Instead of the regular three radiator system seen in previous models, the 992 relies on a singular, large radiator positioned in the nose, right where the luggage compartment would have been. Due to this, Porsche has now been able to implement active-aerodynamics in the front and rear wings. 400kg of downforce is produced at 200km/h - an incredible feat considering that this is twice as much downforce as the previous 991.2 GT3 RS and three times as much as the current 992 GT3. On top of this, a DRS system is fitted into a production Porsche for the first time, to reduce drag on the straights. Air braking is also implemented.

The Porsche 992 GT3 RS uses aerodynamics to an extreme level. The top lip of that mammoth rear wing is higher than the roof, and a front splitter separates the air that runs underneath the car, with side blades and arch vents maximising airflow. The 992 has 3 different driving modes: Normal, Sport and Track. In the latter, all basic settings are able to be modified. The suspension and damping settings can be vastly customised to suit the condition of the surface.

Aside from the incredible aerodynamic focus, the 992 GT3 RS also has an upgraded version of the infamous 4.0L naturally-aspirated flat-six engine. The increase of 15hp is largely produced by the new camshafts, and a 7-speed PDK gearbox results in a shorter gear ratio than the regular GT3. Due to this, it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in only 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 296km/h flat out. When you are reaching such speeds, being able to stop when needed should be top priority. Porsche achieves this with aluminium monobloc fixed-caliper brakes, which have a diameter of 408mm. Ceramic Composite Brakes are available as optional extras, and have an extra 2mm in diameter. It wouldn't be too difficult to come to a halt however, considering that the GT3 RS has a kerb weight of 1,450kg.

Overall, the Porsche 992 GT3 RS is the most savage car to ever have the 'RS' badge. When optioned with the famous Weissach Package the car becomes even more extreme. What would you choose?
