Porsche 911 S/T
In recent years, Porsche has introduced a tremendous amount of 911 variants, with all being incredibly successful. What harm could one more do?
In honour of the 60th anniversary of the infamous 911, the powerhouse manufacturer has revealed the S/T, with the name revived from the original 1969 911 S/T; a race-upgraded version of the S. The S/T is a thoroughbred, purist sportscar, built to appeal to those “dedicated to sheer driving enjoyment”, and follows the same pathway as that original S/T way back in 1969. With a limited run of 1,963 units, the S/T combines the greatest elements of both the GT3RS and the Touring, to produce an extreme yet subtle driving machine. Porsche’s latest masterpiece is constructed with a focus on agility and direct handling, generally through the lightweight manufacturing process. At 1,380kg, the S/T is a full 40kg lighter than the GT3 Touring, and has a track top speed of 300km/h after a 3.5 second sprint to 100km/h.
Pictured is the Heritage Package, an option with the S/T, with Shoreblue metallic exclusive to this. In essence, the 911 S/T is an improved, purist homage to the original, some 54 years since. It’s refined, it’s raw, and it’s everything Porsche is recognised for. In Australia, the S/T is available to order for $660,500, with the Heritage Package adding another $36,670 on top of this. So yep, it’s pricey. But it is the absolute 911, and there is not a sports car today with as much history and roots to the original as this.
